Important U.S. exceptions

Standard zone and clock policy are not the same

The color is the selected-date UTC offset. State, county, and tribal outlines explain where the governing zone or daylight-saving policy changes.

Arizona, Navajo, and Hopi

Most of Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time. Navajo Nation observes U.S. daylight saving, while the Hopi Reservation does not.

Indiana and Kentucky

Both contain Eastern and Central zones. County outlines appear at closer zoom; the map uses verified zone geometry rather than inferring a county from an IANA identifier.

Alaska, Aleutians, and Hawaii

Alaska spans Alaska and Hawaii–Aleutian standard zones. Hawaii does not observe daylight saving; the Aleutian portion follows the U.S. seasonal clock change.

U.S. territories

Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands use distinct offsets and do not observe daylight saving.
